Arvan
is the only son of a lower middle class family, born in the village near the
castle of Bak’nor’s Rock. His mother Lunette works as a servant in the castle
and spends her whole day there. Because of this Arvan had to find his own way
in the village and nearly spent all his time outside, until Lunette would
return from work.
During
his early childhood Arvan and his mother lived alone in a small house.
Sometimes people looked down on them, because Lunette was not married and still
had a child. Everything changed when one of Bak’Nor’s Rock’s light crossbowmen, Bailey, started courting
Arvan’s mother and eventually married her. He did not mind she already had a
child.
Ever
since he was born Arvan amazed his mother. He was incredibly intelligent and
almost never ill. The young boy had keen senses and he was eager to learn.
Because he was such a street kid, he often played pranks with his friends on
travellers or on people in the castle. One time he even managed to nick one of
the spellbooks of a mage defeated by the Lords of Bak’Nor’s Rock. Because he
was very curious he started to read it and often went into the woods to
practise his magic.
His
efforts paid off and soon he used light magic to play pranks on the people in
the village. This caused rumours to grow for now that he grew up it was clear
to see that Arvan was not an average human being. He did not look even human.
His ears were pointy, like those of an Elf. And the only Elves in Bak’Nor’s
Rock were Lord High Wizard Gramber and the young Elf Elviria. This was very suspicious
and because no one knew who Arvan’s real father was the people started to
whisper that Lunette was one of Gramber’s flirts and that Arvan was the result
of that. Everyone knew that Gramber had often surrounded himself with nurses
while he needed to be tended when he had become older magically. None of this
was said openly though and Lunette would not speak of the matter either.
Arvan did hear these rumours because he had the ability to sneak through the village unseen and he often wondered about it. Sometimes he would go to the castle with Lunette and Bailey and it was there that he saw Gramber for the first time. There was a passing resemblance between them he soon figured out and he started to believe that Gramber was his father.
He
planned on introducing himself to the Wizard, but not to reveal any of his
thoughts yet about the father-son matter. He wanted to let the Wizard know who
he was and simply use his magical skills, for he knew that Gramber sought out
students for his School of Magic.
Maybe
through this way he could find out if he was indeed Gramber’s son and also find
a way to be acknowledged as Gramber’s son.
When
the first S.H.I.T was to be formed he found he had not made it in favour of
another, named Wulf. And when the team set out, he stayed behind, to his great
regret.
A
new chance came however when Lord Gri’shak asked for two new S.H.I.T members to look out for the group,
since they had not heard of the the first S.H.I.T. for a long time. And so he
was called to the office along with a priest of the Guardian God Helm named
Lesnar and they set out to find the other S.H.I.T.
